The film 'High Five' (directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol) has achieved the milestone of 1 million cumulative moviegoers.
According to the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS), 'High Five' officially surpassed 1 million cumulative admissions as of 4:12 PM on May 7th.
'High Five' debuted at No. 1 on the overall box office on its opening day (May 30th) and has consistently maintained its top position among Korean films, along with high seat occupancy rates.
'High Five' is the fifth Korean film released this year to reach 1 million admissions, following 'Hitman 2,' 'Black Nuns,' 'The Match,' and 'The Opposition.'
It achieved this feat two days faster than 'The Match' (11 days). The film also gained significant word-of-mouth amidst strong contenders like 'How to Train Your Dragon,' and 'Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning.'
The movie tells its story through distinctive characters without resorting to provocative themes, earning praise for its amusing and harmless comedic style that resonated with all generations.
The cast of 'High Five' celebrated the 1 million admissions milestone, releasing an authentication photo that showcased their remarkable chemistry and a cheerful atmosphere, much like their characters in the film.
