BIGBANG Hits Soar 333% as New Single Dominates Charts

BIGBANG Dominates Domestic Charts with New Release 'BiiiG'

K-pop legend BIGBANG is demonstrating unrivaled presence for their 20th debut anniversary, sweeping domestic charts with new music while driving massive nostalgia streams for iconic classics.

Melon published its Data Lab analytics report on September 1, confirming that the group's latest digital single "BiiiG" instantly captured top chart spots upon release.

The track dominated major platforms following its August 19 drop, claiming number one on Melon's Top 100 alongside its daily rankings.

Other domestic music services showed similar dominance. "BiiiG" swept real-time charts on Genie and Bugs, claimed top spot on Vibe's rapid-rise list, and secured second on FLO.

International listeners tuned in en masse. The release reached second on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart for August 19, securing prime positions across key overseas territories like Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

World Tour Drives Nostalgic Surge for Legacy Hits

The release momentum simultaneously revitalized the act's broader discography. Decades-old classics are climbing back onto active streaming charts.

According to Melon, iconic tracks featured in their recent "XX: Cosmos in Goyang" concert setlist—including "Haru Haru," "Still Life," and "Lies"—experienced rapid upward movement.

The streaming surge stems from fans reviewing discographies ahead of concerts, combined with post-show listening momentum among attendees.

"Haru Haru" logged the most significant surge. Averaging 224th on July's daily chart, it skyrocketed to 67th on the Top 100 by August 24, delivering a massive 298% play increase compared to July averages.

"Still Life" rose from 231st in July to hit 86th on the Top 100, while signature track "Lies" re-entered the top rankings on August 23, climbing to 90th place.

Rather than relying solely on single-track hype, the act's full catalog moved together, driving a cumulative 333% month-over-month increase in total plays across all releases.

Currently embarking on their 20th anniversary world tour, the group will take the stage at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on September 4 and 5. In the Korean music industry, broad catalog revivals during anniversary tours underscore lasting cultural authority and sustained multi-generational loyalty.
