The film 'Zombie Daughter' (directed by Pil Gam-sung) has surpassed 2.2 million viewers, reaching its break-even point just seven days after its release.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated network, as of 6:40 PM on August 5th, 'Zombie Daughter' has attracted a cumulative audience of 2,200,162 people.

The film, which premiered on July 30th, has held the top spot at the box office for seven consecutive days. It is the fastest Korean film this year to reach its break-even point.

Breaking Records and Continuing Momentum

The film had already set several records, including the highest opening score for a Korean film this year, the highest opening score for a Korean comedy film of all time, and the fastest film of the year to reach one million viewers.

Its box office success is expected to continue. As of 7:20 PM today, the real-time reservation rate stands at 17.5%, with over 100,000 people reserving tickets despite it being a weekday.

'Zombie Daughter,' based on a popular webtoon, is a human-comedy film about a father (played by Jo Jung-suk) who embarks on a top-secret training regimen to protect his daughter after she turns into a zombie.

The film is being praised as the "pinnacle of family films," successfully blending both humor and emotion. The comedic performances of actors like Jo Jung-suk, Lee Jung-eun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Yu-ri are credited as key drivers of its success.
