Korean dramas have captivated a global audience, sweeping the top spots on Netflix's most-watched list for 2025.
The global viewing rank tracker, FlixPatrol, released its "Most Watched TV Shows in 2025" list, revealing an impressive performance by Korean productions. Of the 7,508 non-English content titles released in the first half of the year, 11 Korean dramas ranked in the Top 100.
The report shows Squid Game 2 at No. 2 with 117.3 million viewing hours, and Squid Game 3 following at No. 3 with 71.5 million. Even the original Squid Game, released in 2021, landed at No. 12 with 42 million viewing hours. The entire Squid Game series amassed over 230.8 million viewing hours in the first half of the year alone, with Season 3 setting a record in a short period since its June 27 release.
Diverse Genres and Strong Performance
I've Worked Hard, Too came in at No. 19 with 34.8 million viewing hours, and Severe Trauma Center at No. 20 with 34.1 million. This means five of the top 20 most-watched shows were Korean.
The Weak Hero series also performed well. Weak Hero Class 1 (2022) secured the No. 36 spot with 22.3 million viewing hours, and Season 2 ranked No. 45 with 19.6 million.
Other Korean content that performed well included The Plaza (16.9 million viewing hours) at No. 58, The Phone You Are Calling Now (14.3 million) at No. 77, Your Taste (13.7 million) at No. 82, and Vicious Circle (12.7 million) at No. 92.
Korean dramas proved successful across various genres, with a diverse range of hits including medical comedy, time-slip romance, action noir, youth romance, and school action.
The No. 1 spot on the list was claimed by the British series A Boy's Time, which achieved 144.8 million viewing hours. The U.S. show Zero Day was No. 4 (61.3 million), and the U.K.'s Missing You was No. 5 (58 million).
