"I wanted to show that I haven't lost my initial mindset but have grown." (Rei)

On July 20th, IVE took to the stage at Lollapalooza Paris. In addition to their live performance skills, Rei's hairstyle became a hot topic. She had adopted the look of the character Joy from 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.'

Rei recently shared the story behind her hairstyle, revealing that she had personally suggested the look. "Joy's style was identical to how I looked when I shot my debut profile in 2021," she explained.

This naturally brought back memories of her early days. "(The Joy style) was meant to symbolize that I haven't lost my initial mindset," she confessed, "I wanted DIVE (the fandom name) to remember me from that time."

She added, "I also wanted to show how much I've grown since then. I wanted to convey that even though I've grown, Rei is still Rei, and I still love DIVE."

Rei expressed her desire to grow even further. "I wanted them to know how much I want to show DIVE a good side of me," she said with a smile, recalling how happy she was throughout the performance.

Since her debut in 2021, Rei has consistently proven her skill improvement. Though Japanese, she is praised for her high-level Korean rap, precise diction, and stable live vocals.

Her charming vocal tone is also a strength. Rei handles the introductions for most of IVE's hit songs and has even turned non-highlight parts, like the "pop goes the weasel" section in 'ATTITUDE,' into a killing part.

IVE is scheduled to attend the first match between Team K League and Newcastle United on July 30th. They will perform a ceremonial kick-off and a halftime stage. The group is also slated for a comeback with a new album next month.
