Liam Gallagher (52) of the British band Oasis has become embroiled in a racism controversy.

On July 1st, Gallagher posted the term "Chingchong" on his social media. "Chingchong" is a derogatory term used to mock people of Chinese descent, and by extension, East Asians.

Numerous netizens took issue with his remark. When one netizen pointed out, "You shouldn't use such a word (Chingchong)," Gallagher reportedly replied, "Why."

Another netizen reminded him that Oasis is set to embark on a world tour, warning, "Liam, your (concert tickets) will be canceled today."

Gallagher also appeared to dismiss fans attempting to curb the spreading controversy. To a comment stating that such an expression is "racist," he retorted, "Be polite."

He eventually deleted the original "Chingchong" post after a deluge of criticism, but the online debate continues, with Gallagher persistently engaging in exchanges about the matter with fans.

This is not the first time Gallagher has drawn controversy. During his heyday, he was known for various eccentric behaviors, often making headlines for incidents such as disorderly conduct on airplanes and assaulting fans.

Meanwhile, Oasis is scheduled to hold a concert in Korea at Goyang Sports Complex on October 21st at 8 PM.
