On June 30th, Belift Lab, ILLIT's agency, posted an update on Weverse, stating, "We are continuously collecting malicious posts to protect ILLIT's rights and interests," and announcing key developments in their legal actions.
Legal Actions and Convictions
The agency regularly files complaints. In addition, measures have been taken against those who posted sexually offensive content and producers of deepfake videos.
Firstly, criminal complaints were filed against individuals who posted sexually demeaning content. Belift Lab announced, "The identities of the suspects and the facts of their alleged crimes have already been confirmed and referred to the prosecution."
Offenders who created deepfake videos have been sentenced to prison. The agency explained, "Even if anonymous social media platforms like Telegram are used, perpetrators can be tracked through international judicial cooperation."
No Leniency Policy
The agency emphasized, "There will be no settlement or leniency for illegal acts such as the spread of false information, defamation, or sexual harassment," adding, "We once again clearly state that we are taking all possible legal measures."
Belift Lab indicated that they will continue to take stringent action based on fan reports and their own collected data. "We will do our best to ensure the artist can carry out activities in a healthy manner," they stated.
