"We are going to write our own happy ending." — Shinyu

The story of Romeo and Juliet famously ends in tragedy. TWS, however, is rewriting the script. By joining forces with their fandom, "42," the group is subverting the classic trope, transforming "star-crossed lovers separated by fate" into a pair of protagonists who shatter the stars to reach one another. Moving beyond their signature refreshing confession songs, TWS has evolved into a more mature, assertive romantic force.

On the afternoon of the 27th, TWS held a media showcase for their 5th mini-album, NO TRAGEDY, at the YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. The event served as a preview of the group’s new, headstrong narrative.

NO TRAGEDY showcases the group’s adventurous exploration of romance, spanning a diverse musical spectrum including House, Hyperpop, R&B, Boom Bap, Funk, and Rock. The six-track EP—featuring the title track "Follow You" (널 따라가) along with "I’ll Be Everything You Dream Of," "Why You So Bad?," "Get It Now," "Fire Escape," and "Back to Strangers"—marks their first comeback in approximately six months.

A More Mature Take on Youth "If our previous work was about being swept away by emotions, this album is about understanding and accepting love," explained Jihoon. "We’ve expressed the sentiments of youth with much more boldness." Notably, this is the group’s first project since all members reached adulthood. Youngjae added, "Now that we’ve all come of age, we believe we can show a wider variety of colors."

The Title Track: 'Follow You' The title track, "Follow You," is a rhythmic R&B piece blending House sounds with a groovy bassline. The lyrics—specifically the opening lines about the moonlight and a scent drawing closer—evoke the imagery of Romeo visiting Juliet’s balcony. Member Dohoon, who contributed to the songwriting, noted, "It captures the feeling of conveying one's heart without hesitation to the person of one's dreams. I imagined scenes from romance films and tried to translate those actions and emotions into the lyrics."

Elevated Performance and Teamwork The group’s performance has evolved alongside their musicality. Shinyu emphasized, "While our previous performances were high-energy, the key this time is restraint. You will see a deeper, more sophisticated side of TWS." The "Dda-rum" hook, featuring rhythmic shoulder and foot movements, is already being highlighted as a highly addictive challenge point.

With 1.16 million pre-orders recorded as of April 24, TWS has officially hit "Million Seller" status for the first time since their debut, nearly doubling their previous record. "The one-million mark isn't just a number to us," Shinyu remarked. "It’s a form of motivation provided by our fans, and we will work even harder to be a group that lives up to that."

As they enter their third year, the members’ teamwork is stronger than ever. "Before, there were times even after practice when we weren't perfectly in sync," Jihoon shared with a smile. "Now, we can understand each other just by making eye contact."

When asked about the title they hope to earn with this comeback, Hanjin concluded, "We want to be everyone's ideal type—a group that delivers a pleasant, heart-fluttering experience."
