aespa member Ningning is warming hearts across South Korea with a vital act of kindness just as summer temperatures begin to skyrocket.
The Seoul Chapter of the Korean Red Cross announced on July 15 that the global K-pop star has donated 20 million won (approximately $14,500 USD) to support their annual "Severe Heatwave Relief Project."
Protecting High-Risk Households From Extreme Heat
This targeted relief project is designed to prevent heat-related illnesses among vulnerable communities who suffer most during brutal heatwaves and tropical nights.
Ningning’s contribution will directly fund emergency relief packages for 600 single-person households identified as high-risk for isolated deaths.
The relief packages include cooling neck wraps and nutrient-dense, ready-to-eat wellness meals designed to help seniors and low-income residents sustain their strength.
Volunteers Deliver Hope and Crucial Check-ins
Red Cross volunteers will personally deliver these relief items to each household. During these visits, volunteers plan to assess local living conditions, monitor the residents' health, and share vital safety guidelines for surviving extreme summer heat.
Park Myung-sook, head of the Red Cross Volunteer Council in Seoul, expressed deep gratitude for the singer's timely intervention.
