Visual Teaser Signals Autumn Return
Girl group IVE will officially join October's competitive slate of music releases. Starship Entertainment shared a coming-soon promotional video across the group's official social media channels on September 28, announcing their upcoming mini-album Looks Can Kill.
The 19-second visual features the group’s logo illuminating the side of a skyscraper against the Seoul city skyline. A projection mapping display revealed the text "IVE SPIN-OFF RELEASE 2026. 10. 19," teasing initial material ahead of the project's formal drop date.
IVE will release the new mini-album on October 26, preceded by a pre-release single unveiled on October 19.
Building on Chart Dominance
The upcoming project arrives roughly eight months after the six-member ensemble released their second full-length album, REVIVE+, in February.
The previous record achieved significant commercial success across South Korean music platforms. Its double title track "BANG BANG" topped both the monthly charts for Melon and Genie Music, while the group secured a combined total of nine music show trophies during their promotional campaign.
Why this matters: In the K-pop industry, a "comeback" refers to an artist's planned release cycle for new music, accompanied by intensive broadcast performances and promotional appearances.
Navigating October’s Packed Comeback Slate
IVE's scheduled return coincides with an exceptionally crowded autumn release calendar across the domestic music market. Multiple major acts are slated to drop new music during the same month, including KickFlip, NCT WISH, PLAVE, NMIXX, Jeonghan x Joshua, RIIZE, and ILLIT.
With key release dates now confirmed, the group will roll out sequential promotional teasers leading up to the October 19 pre-release track and the full album launch on October 26.
