"When it comes to music, performance, and live vocals—xikers delivers every single time." — Jinsik

Rising K-pop force xikers has officially launched a high-octane comeback, armed with their most intense musicality yet. Their latest work features a relentless three-minute auditory assault, unleashing rapid-fire rap verses from the opening bars and culminating in a fierce, booming chant during the climax.

The group’s stage presence has scaled up dramatically, utilizing a massive crew of backing dancers for a spectacular mega-crew choreography. Maximizing the advantage of their large lineup, the choreography navigates complex, dynamic formations while intricate partner routines add a refined edge to their synchronization.

Their live vocal prowess has matured alongside their performance. Gripping handheld microphones, the rap line delivered flawless, unwavering bars without letting a single breath slip through, while the vocalists showcased their distinct, charismatic tones.

Driving this evolution was a fierce desire to solidify their identity. "We wanted to reveal more of who we are to the world," team leader Minjae shared. "We broke away from conventional expectations and vowed to create the exact kind of music we excel at."

On May 19, xikers held a media showcase at the NOL Theater Hapjeong Dongyang Life Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their 7th mini-album, ROUTE ZERO: The ORA.

With ROUTE ZERO: The ORA, xikers is turning the page to a brand-new narrative universe. While their previous records saw the members freely traveling through time and space, this new chapter plunges them into a strictly controlled world where they must forge their own path.

"In our last album, we shattered 'TRICKY HOUSE'—the entity that held us captive," Jinsik explained. "This new release picks up right after that event. It chronicles our growth as we start anew from ground zero."

Coinciding with this narrative shift, the group has fundamentally elevated their sound, with the members once again participating in the production of every track. "Since our debut, we've experimented with a wide array of concepts and genres," Minjae noted. "While that demonstrated our versatility, it also made it difficult to define our color in a single word. For this record, we focused on adding sonic weight and cohesive unity."

The five-track EP features "GHOST RIDER," "OKAY," "GRAFFITI," "TROPHY," and "BAD BOY." The title track, "OKAY," serves as the ultimate showcase for xikers’ raw, unapologetic swagger.

The track is anchored by a highly addictive chorus driven by the booming, repetitive chant of "OKAY." Member Junghoon elaborated, "It’s a section where the energy completely explodes, designed to give listeners a pure sense of catharsis."

In an unexpected stylistic twist, the group woven elements of the South Korean national anthem into the backing chorus. "We layered the national anthem from the climax all the way through the outro," Sumin revealed. "We wanted to deliver an unexpected element of fun while simultaneously sharing our heritage with a global audience."

Debuting the performance live at the showcase, the members synchronized flawlessly with their dancers for a breathtaking mega-crew routing, sending the room’s energy into overdrive with a climactic dance break. They brought the performance to a thunderous end, stomping the stage in a powerful closing statement.

What stood out most, however, was the group's unwavering live execution. "We treated every single practice session in the studio like a real stadium performance," Yachan emphasized. "Our rap line practiced to the point where we could confidently stand on stage without relying on an AR background track at all."

The B-sides are intricately woven into the album's overarching lore, with each track driving a distinct story while expanding their musical spectrum into new territories like live band instrumentation.

"All five tracks span entirely different genres," Hyunwoo shared with a laugh. "We put a tremendous amount of effort into adapting our vocals to each distinct style. I feel we've grown to a point where we can conquer any genre thrown our way."

The track "TROPHY" encapsulates the fierce resolve of youths standing on the precipice of a new beginning. "It expresses the pride in our journey as ten completely different individuals coming together to walk the same path," Hunter emphasized. "It’s a song overflowing with the confidence that no one can dare to cross us."

Meanwhile, "BAD BOY" marks the group's first foray into a live band sound, delivering a track that feels simultaneously refreshing and fiercely energetic. "It paints a picture of youth racing forward without hesitation," Sumin said. "It is the perfect sonic representation of xikers right now."

Closing the showcase, the members laid out their grand ambitions for the future. "Winning multiple awards at recent ceremonies has injected us with massive momentum," Hunter stated. "We want to channel that drive into this album and sweep No. 1 spots on both music broadcasts and digital charts."

"We view ourselves as the ultimate rogues on stage," Sumin added. "Moving forward, we want to command even larger, more liberated stages and project massive energy to our audiences."

Seeun set his sights firmly on global expansion, stating, "First, we want to hold a solo concert in Korea to create beautiful memories with our fans. After that, we want to take our music to major global festival stages like Lollapalooza and Coachella."

Minjae concluded with a powerful pledge: "We are focused on a steady, step-by-step ascent. One day, we will inevitably reach the absolute top. We will continue to run with unrelenting passion so that xikers is always remembered as a group that leaves everything on the stage."
