Rising star Baek Seon-ho has officially won his legal battle against his former agency, C-JeS Studios. The court ruled in favor of the actor, confirming that his exclusive contract has been terminated.
Law firm Beobjeong, representing Baek, announced the verdict on September 9. The legal team confirmed that the court found no remaining contractual relationship between the actor and C-JeS Studios, granting a complete victory in his lawsuit to confirm the contract's termination.
Baek initiated the legal proceedings to clear all contractual ties and establish a transparent foundation for his future career moves in the entertainment industry.
Rising to Stardom While Serving in the Military
Baek enlisted in the military in December last year and is currently completing his mandatory service. Despite his absence, his visibility skyrocketed following the release of the hit Netflix series Girigo.
In the series, he played Geon-woo, a hugely popular student among his peers. His performance earned widespread acclaim, cementing his status as one of Korean entertainment's top up-and-coming actors.
"Baek Seon-ho will faithfully complete his remaining military duties," his legal team added. "After his discharge, he plans to return to the screen with new acting projects and activities. He will do his best to repay fans through dedication to his craft."
From Idol Trainee to Scene-Stealing Actor
Baek initially trained to debut as an idol under C-JeS Studios before pivoting to acting. He made his official screen debut in the 2023 Channel A drama Man and Woman.
Since then, he has built a strong portfolio with roles in prominent streaming projects, including TVING’s Dongjae, the Good or the Bastard and Dear X.
