SM Entertainment cites venue issues after equipment delays

Taeyeon of Girls' Generation has officially canceled her scheduled solo concert in Tokyo, Japan.

SM Entertainment announced on April 29 that Taeyeon's concerts, originally planned for April 19–20 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, had been canceled due to stage equipment not arriving on time.

Initially, the agency explored rescheduling options. However, they ultimately faced difficulties securing an appropriate venue that could accommodate both the audience size and the production quality required.

"After considering multiple alternatives, we regret to inform fans that the Tokyo concerts have been officially canceled," SM stated.

"We sincerely apologize to everyone who waited patiently. We tried our best until the very last minute to find a solution."

All purchased tickets will be fully refunded. SM Entertainment advised fans to check their My Page accounts and emails for detailed refund instructions starting April 30.

The controversy first erupted when SM notified fans of the cancellation just two days before the scheduled concerts. Global Taeyeon fan unions demanded an official apology and compensation plan.
