Singer Lim Young-woong is preparing to release a new album with an unprecedented format.
His agency, Mulgeogi Music, revealed the timeline for his second full-length album, 'IM HERO 2,' on its official website today, August 11th. The schedule teases various content drops: the tracklist on the 18th, album retail details on the 20th, a music video teaser on the 25th, and the full music video on the 26th.
The new album will be released on major music streaming sites on August 29th.
A Bold Decision for an 'Album Book'
In an unprecedented move for a K-Pop artist, Lim Young-woong has decided to halt the production of traditional CDs for his physical album release. Instead, he will offer an "Album Book" that includes photos and messages.
This decision was made to be environmentally conscious and to reduce the financial burden on fans. Notably, the album book will not be included in album sales charts, making it a bold choice that has drawn significant attention. The agency explained, "We share Lim Young-woong's heartfelt sentiment and have joined forces with him. Although the format has changed, we have filled it with emotion and sincerity."
Lim Young-woong is also set to meet the public through a nationwide concert tour and variety shows. The tour will kick off in October in Incheon, followed by performances in Daegu, Seoul, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Busan.
