Jin of BTS has surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify with a solo track, further cementing his status as a global artist.
The title track, "Don't Say You Love Me," from Jin's second solo album, Echo (released in May), surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify as of September 26th. This marks his second song to reach the milestone, following "The Astronaut." Other solo tracks, including "Running Wild" and "I'll Be There," have also recorded hundreds of millions of streams.
"Don't Say You Love Me" is a Pop genre track distinguished by its clean sound, restrained structure, and easy-listening melody. The song explores the complicated, dual emotions of love—depicting it as a feeling that can be both a source of comfort and pain, as interpreted through Jin's unique perspective.
The track was an immediate hit upon release, sweeping music charts worldwide. It debuted at No. 90 on the US Billboard Main Song Chart, the Hot 100, while the album Echo peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
The song continues to chart strongly, recently climbing to 4th place on Spotify's "Weekly Top Songs Global" (dated September 19–25), a two-spot increase from the previous week. It also holds its position on the latest Billboard charts (dated September 27th), ranking 29th on the "Global (Excl. US)" and 51st on the "Global 200," marking its 18th consecutive week on the charts.
Meanwhile, the group BTS, which Jin is a part of, is currently preparing for a comeback, with an album release targeted for the first half of next year.
