Actor Ha Jung-woo has issued a warning to the public, asking for caution against social media accounts that are impersonating him.
On September 15th, Ha Jung-woo stated on his social media, "I've heard there are many accounts impersonating me. Please be careful. I only have one official account."
To prevent further harm, he asked for the public's help. "If you find someone impersonating me, please send me a direct message (DM) on Instagram," he said. He is also preparing to take action against the fake accounts and asked people to "please contact my agency, Walkhouse Company," encouraging active reports.
Upcoming Directorial Work to Premiere at Film Festival
The warning comes as Ha Jung-woo is set to premiere his new directorial work, The People Upstairs. The film will be unveiled at the 30th Busan International Film Festival's "Special Premiere" section, which opens on the 17th.
The People Upstairs tells the story of an upstairs couple and a downstairs couple who are bothered by daily noise from the neighbors above and decide to have a meal together to resolve the issue. The film stars Ha Jung-woo as Kim Teacher, Lee Ha-nee as Su-kyung, Kim Dong-wook as Hyun-soo, and Gong Hyo-jin as Jeong-a, with the chemistry between the cast as a key viewing point.
The production team shared that the film highlights Ha Jung-woo's "unique and keen observational skills," promising to showcase his "witty dialogue that turns an uncomfortable situation into a pleasant one."
The People Upstairs is scheduled to officially hit theaters in December.
