Yuqi of the group (G)I-DLE is making a solo return.

A representative from Cube Entertainment told Dispatch today, August 12th, that "Yuqi is preparing a new album with the goal of a September comeback," adding, "Please look forward to it."

Yuqi released her first solo album, the mini-album 'YUQ1,' last year and was met with widespread love. Though it was her first solo work in six years since her debut, she delivered an overwhelming performance with her solid skills.

Building on Past Success

'YUQ1' became a half-million seller, with over 550,000 copies sold in its first week. This performance set a new record for the highest first-week sales for a K-Pop female solo artist's mini-album and ranked third for female solo artist first-week sales overall. She also released the digital single "Radio (Dum-Dum)" in March, a hip-hop R&B track that showcased her charming, mid-to-low vocal tone over a trendy melody.

Yuqi has also been flexing her production skills. In June, she proved her capabilities as a producer for "Nowz," and she has received credits on numerous songs for both (G)I-DLE's albums and her solo work.

Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE is scheduled to perform at Japan's largest music festival, 'SUMMER SONIC 2025,' on August 16th and 17th.
