Actors Yum Jung-ah, Cha Joo-young, and Kim Hye-yoon are set to transform into a trio of bank robbers for the film 'Land' (directed by Han Dong-wook), promising an exhilarating crime thriller.
According to film industry sources, Yum Jung-ah, Cha Joo-young, and Kim Hye-yoon recently confirmed their leading roles in 'Land' and held their first script reading on the 12th. The production team plans to begin filming before the end of the year after finalizing the remaining details.
A Female-Led Crime Thriller
'Land' is a crime drama that follows the story of three women struggling to survive in a closed-down mining town where a casino has opened. Their lives take a dramatic turn when they conspire to rob a bank, leading them down a path of unexpected events.
Yum Jung-ah will play the eldest of the trio, Hwa-sook, a woman at the end of her rope. Cha Joo-young is cast as Chun-ja, a woman obsessed with the casino. Both characters are described as bold and fiercely loyal. Kim Hye-yoon rounds out the group as the youngest member, Do-yeon, who works at the bank.
The film will be directed by Han Dong-wook, who previously helmed the Disney+ series 'The Worst of Evil.' Production company Sanai Pictures, known for its specialty in the crime genre, is expanding its portfolio with this female-led narrative.
