AMPERS&ONE has chosen to change. Shedding their "fresh idol" image, the group has revealed a 180-degree different charm. They've expressed their determination to let go of outside perceptions and forge their own path.
The new album arrives just four months after their last release. The new music is more diverse, and the stage performance is more powerful. The members repeatedly emphasized their confidence during the showcase.
Brian introduced the new album, calling it a "turning point" for the group. "Until now, we've shown a lot of fresh and cool concepts," he said. "This new album is a powerful and hip style that we are challenging for the first time."
AMPERS&ONE held a showcase for their third mini-album, "That's That," at the Yewon Culture Center in Sky Art Hall, Gangseo-gu, today, August 12th.
New Sound and Concept: 'Mischievous Angels'
The group's debut single, "AMPERS&ONE," showcased a youthful, fresh vibe, and their previous work, "WILD & FREE," captured the free-spirited nature of youth. This time, they are taking on powerful hip-hop.
Seungmo explained, "We wanted to show AMPERS&ONE's confident side in the face of the world's prejudices and standards. You'll be able to see a contrasting charm from our previous albums."
The new album features a total of six songs, including the title track "That's That," along with "Jitterbug," "Get Famous," "Move It," "We Did It," and "I'm Down." "That's That" is a hip-hop dance track with an addictive saxophone and a dynamic melody. It combines trap and ratchet music to create a unique energy.
N.Kamden expressed his strong conviction about the title track. "I first heard the demo while on our US tour. As soon as I heard it, I felt that 'this absolutely has to be the title track'." He added, "During a meal with our executive producer, Han Sung-ho, I strongly insisted that 'That's That' had to be the title."
The concept for the title track is "mischievous angels," which rejects conventional norms. Kairul explained, "We wanted to break stereotypes by twisting the image of good and pure angels." Jiho added, "We approached the visuals and concepts in a variety of ways. You'll be able to feel AMPERS&ONE's broadened spectrum with this song."

Musical Growth and Future Goals
The lyrics reflect unwavering confidence. Makaya explained, "The lyrics are about moving forward based on our own standards and success, not those set by others."
The performance is filled with sharp, synchronized choreography and a mischievous charm. The dance incorporates light-footed street-style rhythms and hip-hop walking, along with a creative use of passing the microphone back and forth. Makaya shared, "Even though we've returned with stronger music, you'll feel a sense of freedom and ease within it. We've incorporated hip-hop dance elements into the choreography, and the title track's message is subtly embedded throughout."
The choreography also includes an easy-to-follow point dance. Jiho described it as a gesture that means "win or lose," where they flip their hands while their feet move.
Makaya and N.Kamden proved their musical growth by earning songwriting credits on all the tracks for the first time. N.Kamden shared that he often gets lyrical inspiration from everyday life, such as books, movies, and dramas. Makaya said he collaborated with the members to find ways to create "cooler and more fun raps."
As they enter their third year since their debut, AMPERS&ONE dreams of endless transformations with this new album. Jiho said, "I've wanted to try various concepts since before my debut. I hope to broaden our spectrum with this album."
When asked about their goal for this promotion, Seungmo said, "I want us to make our mark with AMPERS&ONE's unique and differentiated music." N.Kamden added, "I want to get our first win on a music show."
After a fan meeting tour across 22 cities in Asia and North America earlier this year, the members' desire for live performance has grown even stronger. Makaya named Canada, the US, and Australia as their targets for the next world tour, adding, "We have a lot of foreign members, so we want to tour in our respective hometowns."
AMPERS&ONE's third mini-album was released on various music streaming sites at 6 PM today, August 12th.
