"We Do Not Conduct Street Castings": ‘Weak Hero’ Production Studio Warns Public Against Casting Fraud

The production company behind the hit series Weak Hero has issued an urgent warning to the public regarding fraudulent activities using the show's name to scam aspiring actors.

On June 2, production studio Playlist took to its official social media channels to post an urgent public notice titled "Warning Against Fraudulent Casting Notices." The warning was prompted by recent reports of fraudulent casting scams falsely claiming to recruit talent for an upcoming Weak Hero Class 3.

According to the studio, a malicious third party has been impersonating the series' official casting directors. In response, a representative from Playlist strongly clarified, "Our company does not conduct separate street castings under any circumstances."

The studio firmly added, "Such street casting solicitations have absolutely no affiliation with our company. We strictly urge the public not to comply with these individuals. If you encounter any similar fraudulent attempts, please report them to us immediately."

Weak Hero is a critically acclaimed school-action thriller starring Park Ji-hoon as the protagonist, Yeon Si-eun. The first season initially premiered on the domestic streaming platform Wavve, while the highly anticipated second season, Weak Hero Class 2, expanded globally via Netflix.

The franchise has enjoyed explosive global popularity. Upon its debut, Weak Hero Class 2 immediately skyrocketed to the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV series list (Non-English category).

Meanwhile, Playlist noted that official production plans for a third installment, Weak Hero Class 3, have not yet been determined.
