MONSTA X member Hyungwon has returned to his fans.
Starship Entertainment announced Hyungwon's military discharge on the 13th, stating, "Hyungwon has completed his 1 year and 6 months of military service. He was officially discharged today, May 13th."
Hyungwon enlisted in the training center in November 2023. He served as an active duty soldier after being assigned to his unit. Today marks the completion of his mandatory national defense duty.
This discharge signifies the end of MONSTA X's military hiatus, allowing the group to reunite as a complete unit. They are scheduled to release their 10th-anniversary digital album, 'NOW PROJECT Vol. 1', on the 14th.
Hyungwon shared his feelings, saying, "MONBEBE (fandom name), I'm back. I missed you all so much. Reading the letters you wrote gave me great strength."
He added, "Tomorrow is MONSTA X's 10th anniversary. I am happy to be with my members," and vowed, "I will do my best to create many memories."
He is scheduled to host a live broadcast celebrating his discharge on MONSTA X's YouTube channel at 6 PM KST today. A free fan event titled 'Hyungwon's Greenhouse' is also planned for the 17th.
Meanwhile, MONSTA X, including Hyungwon, is set to release 'NOW PROJECT Vol. 1' on the 14th.
