NewJeans' Minji opened up about her emotional state through a heartfelt message to fans, posted on her birthday.
🎂 Minji's Birthday Reflection
On May 7, Minji shared a lengthy post on the group-run Instagram account @mhdhh_friends, where the members have been updating fans independently of their agency.
"I've been busier than expected," she began. "Before I knew it, my birthday had come. Time flies."
💬 Conflicted Emotions & Honest Confession
Minji admitted feeling overwhelmed:
"There's so much I want to say, but maybe because my mind is so tangled, I can't organize it."
She expressed a desire for happiness—for herself, her members, and their fans (Bunnies). But she also questioned the cost of chasing dreams:
"Maybe it looks selfish to pursue what I love while focusing only on my own happiness."
"But I hope I'm happy today and tomorrow. Sacrificing the present for a future that might never come—that feels too cruel."
💔 Hints of Internal Conflict
Her words also carried weight in light of the ongoing dispute with their agency, ADOR, implying struggles behind the scenes:
"It's a future we don't even know will come, maybe one that won't. I miss the days when we were united through good music."
Still, she expressed hope:
"This isn't where we stop. We're not stopping. I believe we're growing deeper."
She ended by recalling Bunnies who visited her birthday café:
"I hope we're all happy—today and tomorrow."
