Hountrix, the fictional K-pop group from the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, hereafter 'KPDH'), has shared their emotional reaction to receiving a nomination for the U.S. Grammy Awards.

The original soundtrack for 'KPDH,' the song 'Golden,' was nominated on the 8th for 'Song of the Year,' one of the top General Field awards at the Grammy Awards. Rosé was also nominated in the same category for her song 'Apartment.'

This marks the first time a K-Pop genre song has contended for a major General Field Grammy award. Beyond 'Song of the Year,' 'Golden' received an impressive total of five nominations, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Best Remixed Recording.

The voices behind Hountrix—Lee Jae, Audrey Nuna, and Ray Ami—shared their feelings through the U.S. magazine Variety. Lee Jae confessed, "I still can't believe it. I am numb."

Ray Ami became tearful, saying, "I keep crying. It doesn't feel real. It feels like a dream." Audrey Nuna, however, emphasized 'representation' over the honor of the nomination itself.

"There will be three Koreans standing on the Grammy stage. The thought of the kids who will see that gives me goosebumps all over my body. I hope they believe that 'I can do it, too,'" said Ray Ami.

Ami added, reflecting on her experience as a Korean woman, "We were always told we have to work twice as hard, arrive earlier, and stand out more than others to receive the same recognition."

Lee Jae, who is the first Korean-American female songwriter nominated for 'Song of the Year,' confessed, "Sometimes I feel 'Imposter Syndrome' (the phenomenon of suffering anxiety despite having proven competence), wondering if I even belong here."

The trio also took to social media, writing, "The Hountrix girls are going global," and expressed their gratitude: "This wouldn't have been possible without the fans who loved the movie. Thank you."

In addition to Hountrix, Rosé's 'Apartment' earned three nominations, including 'Song of the Year' and 'Record of the Year.' The group CATSEYE was nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The 68th Annual Grammy Awards are scheduled to be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA, on February 1st of next year (local time).
