SEVENTEEN is taking stringent legal action against malicious commenters. The group's agency has announced a full-scale offensive, requesting overseas courts to disclose information on those who post harmful content.

Pledis Entertainment posted an update on their official social media on June 17th regarding the ongoing legal proceedings against malicious posts, including insult and defamation, targeting SEVENTEEN.

The agency has already filed complaints against some netizens. "For the accused whose identities have been confirmed in the complaints, their charges have been recognized and referred to the prosecution. We are awaiting the disposition results," they stated.

They added, "Our company actively cooperated with the investigation process to ensure that those who were referred receive severe punishment. We are also clarifying the damages for ongoing cases under investigation."

Pledis confirmed that they have been monitoring various platforms, including social media, online communities, and music sites, to collect evidence of malicious posts. "Based on this, we have submitted complaints to investigative agencies," the agency said.

Notably, they revealed that fan reports were particularly helpful for malicious posts on the overseas social media platform 'X'. "Based on these reports, we have initiated legal actions, including criminal complaints and civil lawsuits," they explained.

Pledis further stated, "We are currently proceeding with relevant legal procedures, such as requesting information disclosure from overseas jurisdictional courts, to confirm the identities of account holders and take subsequent measures."

The agency emphasized that there will be no leniency. "We will not stop at a single instance but will continuously collect evidence," they stressed, adding, "We will pursue all legal means to ensure punishment without leniency or settlement."

Finally, Pledis concluded by expressing gratitude for fans' affection and dedication towards SEVENTEEN. "Our company will also do its best to protect the precious values that fans and SEVENTEEN have upheld," they stated.
