"J-Hope's love for ARMY is something fans simply can't keep up with."
J-Hope of BTS showcased an extraordinary display of fan affection. Making an appearance on a music show for the first time in approximately two years, his first priority was ARMY (his fandom), drawing significant attention for his unprecedented reverse support.
On June 17th, J-Hope participated in the pre-recording for Mnet's 'M Countdown' at CJ ENM Studio in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Over 1,000 fans were also present at the venue.
Dedicated Space and Thoughtful Gifts for Fans
J-Hope reportedly rented out an entire large studio for his fans, preparing it as a comfortable waiting area. This thoughtful gesture was for fans who would otherwise have to wait outdoors for extended periods, as pre-recordings typically do not provide separate waiting spaces.
He meticulously attended to even the smallest details, providing lunchboxes, desserts, drinks, perfume sets, lip balm, and photo cards. Fans were deeply touched, with many commenting, "This is the first time I've seen an artist take care of our meals like this."
He also expressed his affection through a handwritten letter. He wrote, "I hope this message brings you great strength while waiting for the recording. I prepared this because I want to show you the best stage. I love you, ARMY."
He had previously hinted at this during a listening party live stream, saying, "It's quite hot, isn't it? I prepared a space where [ARMY] can rest. I'm not sure if you'll like it."
An official from the music industry told Dispatch, "J-Hope personally prepared this out of concern for fans waiting for the recording. [Even the staff] were touched when they heard about it later."
Fan Reactions and Upcoming Performances
Social media was flooded with reviews. Fans left comments such as "This is a first for an artist," "It was comfortable thanks to him renting the entire place and even turning on the air conditioning," and "J-Hope is love."
J-Hope warmly communicated with his fans, sharing photos of an ARMY Bomb (fandom light stick) and a hand heart on Weverse. He wrote, "ARMY, are you ready? I'm looking forward to your fan chants [for the new song]."
J-Hope released his new song, "Killin' It Girl," on June 13th, performing it for the first time at his world tour encore. He showcased a powerful and sexy performance.
"Killin' It Girl" is a hip-hop track that expresses the overwhelming excitement of falling for someone at first sight. It boasts a high level of perfection, befitting BTS's dance leader and a world-class performer.
J-Hope's 'M Countdown' stage will air on June 19th. He is also scheduled to appear on KBS-2TV's 'Music Bank' on June 20th, MBC-TV's 'Show! Music Core' on June 21st, and SBS-TV's 'Inkigayo' on June 22nd.
